Winter Melon - 1 cup
Peanut- 1 /2 cup (raw)
Tomato- 1 or 2 ( chopped)
Curry leaves- little
Mustard seed- 1 tsp
Urad dhal- 1 tsp
Pepper corn- 1/2 tsp
Coconut - 1/4 cup
Red chillies- 2
Oil- 2 tsp
Cooked Moong dhal- 1 cup
Salt - to taste
Method:
- Add winter melon, peanut, tomato, curry leaves, salt and water in a pressure pan.
- Cook it.
- Heat oil in a pan, add urad dhal, pepper and red chillies. Fry them for sometime.
- Add coconut to the above mix and grind them to paste.
- Add the cooked moong dhal and the paste to the cooked winter melon content.
- Cook them for 5 to 10 mins.
- Season it with mustard and urad dhal.
- Winter Melon Kootu is ready to serve with rice or chappathi.
